Originally from the mountainous desert of New Mexico and then the plains of Oklahoma, I settled in the Denver, Colorado area in 2000. A lifelong admirer of the arts, I discovered my own creative calling relatively late in life. As a result, painting has become my primary focus and a necessary part of my existence.
Self-taught and ever experimenting with media and substrates, I currently primarily work in oils combined with cold wax medium on panels, or with acrylic media on canvas. My work is made up of layers of color laid down and manipulated with various tools such as palette knives, squeegees, and spatulas. Wonderful surprises often result and form into images evocative of natural or urban settings. Sometimes dystopian, sometimes highly energetic, the resulting visions have been described as a something on the edge between imagination and reality.
